Sam Smith

Our move to the new 90 acre ranch in Oklahoma will allow us the opportunity to better assist and serve our clients. We will continue to focus on riding, training and coaching horses and riders and we will also be able to assist clients with their horse breeding needs.

Training a horse to reach their potential is a hard job and one that Sam Smith has been very successful at over the years. Knowing when a horse needs to be challenged and when it is time to slow down is a special talent. As you can tell by Sam’s consistent successes with young horses, it is clear that not only can Sam show a talented horse; he can train one to achieve their true greatness. The beginning of a horse’s show career really begins at inception. Therefore, picking the correct stallion to cross your mare on, as well as having a staff that will take outstanding care of either your broodmare or recip mare, are of the utmost importance if you want to raise a winner.

Sam can assist you in choosing that “magic cross” stallion that will be chosen especially for your mare. While stallion owners might recommend their stallion for your mare, Sam looks at the pedigree, disposition, strengths and weaknesses of your horse, as well as that of the stallion to best assist you in the difficult task of choosing a stallion.

After inception we can care for your mare or recip. The right nutrition, care and environment are important to the unborn foal. And when the time comes we stand ready to foal out your next reining champion.

With a long list of who's who in the Non Pro reining world, Sam has coached some of the best Non Pro's in the industry. Just preparing a horse for the show ring is a difficult enough task, but coaching and teaching a Non Pro how to best maneuver the pattern and put on their "game face" so they can achieve their personal best is probably the hardest task a reining horse trainer will have to endure. Sam excels at this complex task and enjoys when his Non Pro riders achieve a goal that they have strived hard to reach. Visit the Non Pro page to see a list of Sam's Non Pro success stories.
